Island Mainau

Palms and other mediterranean plants grow on the drop-shaped island “Mainau" due to the mild climate around Lake Constance. Because of its subtropical, partly also tropical vegetation, the island of Mainau is also called the “flower island in Lake Constance". Throughout a year a day trip to the island is worthwhile. A boat trip from Meersburg with a passenger ship to the island is highly recommended. The island is not only a special destination for flower lovers – the new playground or the butterfly house offers children also fun.

Rheinfall, Schaffhausen

The Rhine Falls, formerly also known as the ‘Great Laufen’, is one of the three largest waterfalls in Europe, along with the equally high Sarpsfossen in Norway. The Rhine Falls are located in Switzerland in the municipality of Neuhausen am Rheinfall in the canton of Schaffhausen.
